“When you're going through something, you don't really appreciate everything that is happening until you reflect and compare it to something else. When I left, everything I compared in basketball I compared Midland College to it.”
“It's easy to find kids who are good and everybody wants. What's difficult is to find a kid who's better than he appears and know to go after that kid. We used to go after 6-(foot)-4, 6-5 post men we knew the big schools wouldn't go after. We would get good athletes at the post position and we always had a lot guards.”

“I think this is real special that they're doing this for me. We won a lot of games and a lot of those kids turned out to do some darn good things. There were a lot of people to thank for that.
