“We are hoping to help the middle schools out and give the kids the fundamentals of the game. So that when they get there, they will ready and eventually, those kids will be moving up to the high school. We want coach Mallard to have the end product at Clinton High.”
“[And the price is right. There is no charge for any area athlete that wants to play at the Clinton Recreation and Parks Department.] For our city and county residents who want to play here, it is all free, ... The only thing that the athlete has to pay for is his socks, shoes and mouthpiece.”
“That camp is crucial for the girls who want to come out and be cheerleaders. Because this year, right after the camp, we are going to assign teams. Last year, we had 60 girls show up for the camp, but we had 85 cheerleaders. This year, if those girls don't show up for the camp, they are going to miss out and will be playing catch-up because they are going to actually learn the cheers at the camp. So, it is vital that they are there.”

“We can't wait, ... We had over 100 more kids for soccer this year (460) and we are expecting at least 100 more this year for football, so we are really excited.”
“[In addition to putting new T-10-type Bermuda grass on the multi-purpose field, the department has been preparing for their annual kickoff celebration that will take place on Wednesday, October 5 at 7 p.m.] We are going to try a new format this year, ... In addition to having the opening ceremonies where we announce the teams and the players, we will have a few scrimmages going on, similar to the Jamboree format, so that people can see their teams in action.”
